Reading how these guys are going about starting these bikes, I think it is less complicated to start a jet engine. Jesus, and these are $9k bikes! They should start and run like a $9k bike! I won't be having any.

Isn't MSRP $7,599.00?

I thought it was 9k but I am probably off. I just can't beleive that for that much $, they wouldn't build a quality machine or at least give a warranty.

Well as long as people keep buying them, then Honda has no reason to change things. Sounds vaguely familiar

Like anything I guess it depends on what bike you're talking about.
KTM 450SX-F with green sticker and EPA compliance is $11,398. 505SX-F with the same is $11,698. Same 450 without a green sticker or EPA blessing is just $8,000.

I'm hoping Yamaha is looking into the future and still feels the 2 stroke will return. Maybe this is why they still produce it. All i know is it will be a sad day when you can't go to your local dealer and buy a smoker. Oh wait we still have the af thank FUCK for that.

i think honda website say $7,500 for '09 450. it would be a badass looking chassis and plastic for conversion

LMFAOOOO!!!

"A trick that gets my 07 started is pull choke out, pull the hot start then release it then give it 3 quick cracks of the throttle then pull the hot start again and release then kick down slow to get on TDC then give it a strong full kick"

Thats worse than the dumbasses that do the "lean till it floods out the carb" method

Doing a wheelie up a dune, and sitting on the rev limiter for 15 laps is two totally different things.

I beg to differ that your bike has been ridden hard as hell.

You should hear the likes of Ty davis and casseli at the adelanto GP, their bikes are popping on the limiter for damn near 30 miles non stop.

Yeah, you may be right, but that only proves my point. That few, if anyone on this thread, would have anything to worry about riding a thumper like mine...

Well I plan to tear down and inspect the 450 before AZ. Its over 3 years old now so I figure its time for a piston and rings at least (forged too, over the stock cast). And I want the warm fuzzy before I take it deep into no mans land. Ill take detailed pics of what, if anything I find. Then you guys can be the judge...

Last night i checked out Thumpertalk CRF450 threads........ i have no doubt
new CRF's are crap,i had a 03 and it rans good (except a weird noise in the clutch) but it's true that i only used it for short trips to the supermarket when i need beer or bread by the way one week ago i found in an advert my old CRF (i sold it 5 years ago) and looks like the last day that i seen it,maybe with a few bad-taste decals more,i shouldn't sold it.......now i could have a nice frame for conversions, here's the advert pic..........
