i got everything buttoned up and was able to do a real ride. the feel of the chassis and suspension are awesome, probly alittle better than honda steely.....the seat is definatly more comfortable than hondas. i wanted to see how the jetting would react to this high elevation, so i just left it stock. it seemed alittle lazy when you blipped the throttle but other wise wasnt too terribly bad, but ill probly lean all the circuits out alittle next time i ride it. as for the power..... feels just like a 250 but with 185 extra cc's , not alot on the bottom end (compared to a 500) but it comes to life real fast in the mid range and rips on top. once i get the jetting closer im sure it will run even better but it still wont have the torque of a 500 probly because the stroke is so short. over all its a cool bike

this thing been in the back corner for a while but were getting into winter and its time to light the fire back up and get er done . still getting a few things sorted but it looks ill be using the wristpin bearing from a watercraft. calling cometic tomorow on the spacer plate .
new katoom slug
incase anyone wondered how much weight a steel sleeve adds, exactly 1 pound according to my walmart scale.

few more parts for the '96 550 build showed up. rest of the bottom end parts will be here next week. old bearings had no noticeable play but decided to start fresh since everything is 15yo. funny thing is bearings, seals and gaskets are same price or cheaper than honda.

I wouldn't be complaining about that.

been messing with this one for a while, was in pretty bad shape when i got it. you could say i rescued it from a miserable fate at the hands of a total retard. broken bolts in clutch hub, brake pads wore to the metal, waterpump impeller and shaft fucked up, sand in every bearing, sprockets had missing teeth. just have to put a few bits back on now, should be riding it next weekend

I love the kawi, I put a scotts stabilizer on it about a month ago, so fucking nice!
