thats a china/japan deal, helps to break down duty, its a complete scam, and you're fucked if its lost because you cant insure the freight amount.

Gentlemen: 12 sets of covers left for Roostys today. Should be there late next week, I chose regular ground mail, it was the most cost effective (read:CHEAPEST!) way to get them there.
Let's give a big shout out to the Big Guy for handling this, because there's no way I could have gotten them shipped out. A big "Fucken A!" from my end, Adam. Anyone want to call GSS and see if HE wants a couple covers made right to sell?!

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

How deep of a cut would be safe to put some lettering on these?

My guy says he laser engraves his, so they are more than thick enough to take that. If in doubt get a big mic and measure them I guess. I trust his judgement.

Nor was I. However that was a direct repro of the piece Mike gave me. Didn't think about it at the time but it will be a dirt magnet. My guy told the machinist to give him back the CAD program so he could mod it to take those out on some. It went sideways somewhere. I could probably talk him into another run but it ISN'T happening soon. It full on bike season now and with the engine division as well as the machine shop going its not on the priority list. Run those a season get some new ones made next winter and off those. I didn't look closely but is there enough material to take those out? Chuck it in a lathe and skin and buff?

It looks like someone could make a jig and have thos smoothed out on a lathe.

If its concentric it shouldn't be a problem. If it well chuck up in a 3 jaw external tighten it up and spin away. Sucks but if you want it your way.......
One more lesson I've learned I guess. Next time it will be easier to avoid the pitfalls.

There is plenty of material to remove the marks. as long as you dont take it deeper than the bottom of the ridges, it will be perfectly fine.

I received them the day after you mailed them when you were stateside

They look great!
Still havent had a chance to install, I was thinking about filing the ridges off, powdercoating, then having the faces milled.

I setup and cut the faces on mine and a customers, 5$ each if you want it done.
Theyre good looking, have trailing marks of the endmill if you attempt to polish the flat face of them. I can hold them on the lathe and skin them smooth. I also eliminated the ridges, theres plenty of meat.
I'm trying to get emails out to the guys who are in already with some pics, dammn internet is chugging slow.
