I had the two-piece headstays drilled completely...I wanna know how close they are. Actually, I know the gen. one's are spot on, but the gen. three's might need a slight adjustment or a larger hole. We'll see.
Bobby, send me your's and I will clean em' up and make em from billet mignon.

As you can see in the pic, the headstays are missaligned by a couple washers thickness. My original one peice shanman headstay was like this also, so maybe it's just my bike. The holes are spot on, and the right size.

Yea, but was there any difference in vibration or overall feel?

Bob, did you see that much of a miss on the offset for the headstay's I sent you awhile back? If so, I want to make the correction ASAP. Worst case should only be one shimming washer to account for all the different conversions.
I too am curious if there is less vibes...a two piece design is twice the work and twice the cost in limited numbers!
BTW: I screwed up the gen. one's...Danny is just being polite. Thanks Dan!

I never saw the final install, but Cracker told me it was perfect.

anytime man!
The timing was perfect because right after my test fit I discovered that I didn't have any compression and pulled the topend!

That's tough to say. I might need more ride time to tell. It seemed to have less vibs at startup and idle, but under load while flying around in 5th gear there are to many sensations going on to notice vibration differences. I think only a long hard ride will tell the story because if there is a big difference my hands and arms will feel less fatigue. But the vibs through the bars are still apparent with this bike, which doesn't bother me much. I adjusted the air in the front tire several weeks ago, and also changed out the front forks to some more plush units, and that has made a world of difference in how the bike rides in the rough stuff. So better headstays might only make a small improvement in overall feel.

Alright, I took the measurement of the offset from the frame mount on the right hand side to the head mount on the right hand side. I got 20/32 or 5/8ths, same thing in a proper fraction. I don't know if this is the same measurement that others get, but for me, Shanmans headstays required a couple washers to make up the difference. Can we please get some input from others on how well the headstays fit their gen 3's?

actually, I need to get the offset dim from a few other gen 3's so we can draw an average and I can correct the offset for the new run. Thanks.
