89 swingarm on a 87?

Post by dyhi »

Will it work with out frame modification? What will I need from the 89 other than caliper holder and swingarm? The reason I want to do this is I want to supermoto my 87 and finding rims and other pieces to the puzzle seams hopeless. Everything apears to be for 89 and newer.

The '87 wheel will bolt right up to an '01
Problem with the '89 swingarm is the stupid 2 bolt design for the chain guide.

Just get an '89+ super moto wheel and it should go right on. I think you have to use your '87 rotor which will bolt on.

An 87/88 6 bolt rotor will not bolt on an 89-01 4 bolt hub, sorry.
Unless at some stage the 89 was released with a 6 bolt hub.
As far as I know they did not.
