Turbo cr500af trike completed!
Well. this project started as a 2nd gen af, then a 3wheeler, now a functional turbo. I'm using a Garret GT15 @ 12psi. It has crazy power. I thought the bike was fast before. The turbo is night and day difference. And i basically done the project in 2 weeks. One week for fab. One week for tuning. Turned out great.
Here's a short crappy vid:

I don't know how to post pics on this site; so here's a link with pics.

:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:
that thing must haul the fuckin mail.
other than the turbo, anything else done internally? high comprression, better carb, reeds, porting?
if not, do all that, run it on alky, and give it a shot of nitrous, and you will destroy anything at the sand drags. or, quarter mile drags if you gear it up

motor is ported, window in piston, cut head, cr250 ignition, 39pwk and so on. Bike was on alky before the turbo; but i felt gas would be alot easier to tune with the turbo.NightBiker07 wrote::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

The only issue I'm having right now is reed breakage. I need a single stage reed. The dual stage Boyesens will break before God gets the news. lol You guys have any ideas for a more durable reed?

Try a Vforce reedcage system.
also, what boyesen reeds were you using? the POWER reeds are more durable than the PRO reeds.
if all else fails, i believe the stock reeds are metal. at least, they were for quite a few bikes and quads ive ad apart.
and the 500 Sabertooth top end for the TRX is completely different than the CR500. it was engineered for raw power, and the porting/bore/strole ref;ects that. the Saber puts out about 100 out of the box, it takes a LOT to get that out of a CR5.
unless, you could port the cylinder to hit like a 125 or a 250......but i think you'd be cutting into the water jackets trying to make the cylinder that wild.

I'm hearing from several sources that the V-forces don't hold up to boost or nitrous.NightBiker07 wrote:Try a Vforce reedcage system.

...And I agree itth you on the Saber. Those are beasts! Yet I still believe that 100hp is a very realistic number for my turbo. I will be going to the dyno as soon as the reed problem is sorted out.
I want to try a set of steel reeds, but hate to break them and trash my motor.
Try these I use them in my NOS bike....

I don't know they have been in the bike for years. Yes they are single stage.
