Kinda bummed that I did now since its prime riding time here now,I let one of my buddies take it for a spin last friday,Saturday He showed up at my house with a $2000 down payment offering $3500.00,the remainder to be paid this friday,I had been browsing Kijiji lately dreaming of whats next for me,I had a Gen 3 250 in mind but had been back and forth to this a kabillion times so the Gen 3 is gonna have to wait

you sold a gen1 with cr5 motor for $3500 ? awesome  . you can build a new and better bike now. gen3 250 AND complete steely can be found for $3500, (around this area anyways). your area might be higher priced.

How do you guys get vehicles there? Air freight would be pretty expensive? I shipped 500 kg to Iqaluit last year, and I think it was around $3500.00.

It'll cost about me just over a 1000 bucks to get it here, coulda been less if the trike was in Edmonton but I gotta fly it from Grande Prairie to Edmonton first on Air Canada,I've been working for Firstair since January and we get some discounts on shipping so Its not that bad,Before I worked for firstair I paid 1200.00 to get my 86CR5 here and 600.00 for the gen 1 cause I got a deal through one of the Firstair guys

You are going to love the trike.
Mate of mine has an 86 250R, has owned it since new.
He said he will never part with it, said he is going to get buried with it.
I bet he does to.

i had a 84 250r, ported, polished, high compression wiseco, 300cc bigbore kit, Vforce 3 reeds, 38mm carb, balanced crank with counterbalancer removed......thing had such a broad powerband, would pull power wheelies before the powerband hit, and when it hit.....holy shit. it needed about 6 teeth less on the rear sprocket to really utilize the power, even after going 1 up on the front. thing was dumb fast, traded it for my streetbike.

they are fun, but the dirtbike is more fun for me.

I was thinking the same thing. Had an 81 and 85 for twenty years. There good for the dunes and pretty fun to flat track'em but, I am SOOOOOOOO over it.

Good luck and keep your feet on the pegs.

:) :) :) Ya it sounds crazy but like I said I've wanted a trike for a few years and one showed up when I had the cash for it so i jumped on it,Think about it like this,I paid 800 bucks for the gen 1 roller, sold the 125 engine and exhaust for 800 bucks so the roller cost me nothing but the $600.00 to ship it here and $300.00 to replace the toasted topend on the 125 engine, bought the 250 frame for like $120.00 shipped spent about $1200.00 on the engine, mounts, exhaust,so I made like a $1200.00 profit,I still have a 86 500 chassis that just needs the shocks rebuilt and some fresh bearings, set of 86 cases, set of 87 cases,87 top end in need of a bore/piston,a nice 96 tranny and shift guts,a good 86 crank,a rebuildable 87 crank,I could slap a engine together within a month or so If I took the time to order up the rest of what I need for it but I'm gonna save it for this winter for something to do,My plan was to pick up a gen 3 250 to convert but thats gonna have to wait I guess,Honestly I miss the 500 but I'm sure the trike will fill that void and next year I'll have a 500 and a trike to rip around on  and besides that the guy that bought my 500 is a friend of mine and will let me ride it whenever i ask anyways, had it out for a rip yesterday actually
