GoPro Hero Wide Camera Firmware Upgrade to 4GB

Post by Roostius_Maximus »

I just got an update from GoPro that allows a 4gb (2hours) card instead of just the 2gb its previous firmware limited it to.

You just d/l the firmware and apply it?

Now if they can extend battery life!

you need to request it by email, put it on the sd card, press the power btn quickly let off and press and hold pwr+shutter buttons simutaniously then its set to go.

I have only run mine once and took a 45 min vid with it. i did go buy some rechargeable batteries on sale at walmart, got 8 of the lithium for 9$ canadian

Cool - I'll do the email request too then.

BTW - the NiMH batts work much better. I use the Energizer 15 min charger with NiMH AAA's and it works much better. Whats nice is I can get the CVS or Fry's batteries cheaper than the energizer brand and it works just as well.

I just got back from riding all afternoon, the gopro was on most of the time, took 13 seperate vids, but on the 4gb card that was only 2.16gb and the camera said it was full. Not sure whats up there but it was a good ride. I chaged batteries 1/2 way thru just cuz we were back at the truck.
