1987 CR125 - Excellent Condition!

Post by hoofarted »

Hey All!

I have too many bikes and one has to go. I got this 125 originally for my son to ride - which he did briefly. He got 3 or 4 decent outings on it before it quit and didn't want to start. I popped off the seat and found bits of foam residue where the filter used to be - crap - I knew I was in for a treat. I remember thinking...eh...maybe top end. No such luck - the bottom end was crap as well...this thing had to of been sucking dirt for a while - The PO wasn't very keen on maintenance  So the entire motor has been gone through. I did a complete tear down of the bike and went through everything. Even matched the Honda orange color. Included a fresh filter and a newly-packed silencer to boot! The only thing it can use is a new rear tire. Fires 1-2 kicks cold. I have it running a little rich as you can see in the video - 125's need a tad bit fatter mixture. Total run time on new build is less than 2hrs...barely broken in. Now here it is as you see it. The plastics are original OEM in excellent condition! Seat is in excellent shape too - no tears - uncommon for a bike this old. My son ended up riding my Gen1 250 because the 125 was down for so long - and he likes the power now. $600 takes it.

The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...
