Yup.

Dungey couldn't get his bike to restart in Heat 1 of Lites. LCQ for him. Fawkin' J-Law wins his heat.

Some pretty good racing, but it's shit racing to me when someone can't get one of the 4 strokes restarted and if EFI is the answer, then it should be either mandatory or not allowed at all to level the field.

It sucked to be Windham :x another bone head move by stewart with the Yamaha having troubles. Reed was lucky he went down to cause it usually doesn't happen that way hitting someone from behind like that.

Whats really weird was Reed in Carmichels clothing.

The main looked like it was going to be a good race untiil all the hooplaa. I would have liked to have heard what bubba was saying when the bike wouldn't restart. Gotta love those 4 strokers. J-Law is a good rider, to bad he has such a problem not being a punk.

I think if I were going to go for a 4 stroke, I would take one of the EFI bikes. They were pretty impresive. But I still miss the 2 stroke days.

Ya I haven't checked lately but if Zuk went to a five speed, that would be it.

For some reason, Suzuki's have always had a real flimsy feel to me. I don't know why, but they just feel like there not built quiet strong enough. But I am bias anyways, due to the fact they didn't build a more modern 500 I never bothered with them.

in case you haven't seen the race yet, don't look below -

!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!

3 comments/observations about JS's get-off -

(1) dang, he went down HARD!

(2) he looked notably dazed after getting up - if he had gotten that YZF restarted, how do you think he would have done?

(3) if the EFI really does make an improvement in hot-starting the 4-strokes, why haven't all the teams at this level gone to EFI this season? It's bad enough to have a get-off, but to DNF because a balky hot 4-stroke doesn't want to start???? Come on...

It was Sheheen and Emig that brought up the hot start issue and the lack of EFI on the blue bikes.

I expect to see hot start issues after a spill these days.

I don't expect to see a catastrophic engine failure like on Dungey's bike, but I probably should by now.

Damn Windham got hosed. I would be pissed. I grew up on Suzuki's and am a fan of them. It's hard to root for Reed though. :P One of these days I will have a CRM500AF. :whoop:

Phew...I don't care to keep track of how many bikes blow up and don't start this year like I did last. It's pointless. The race bikes these days are garbage...nothing else needs said or reiterated.

Ridden the 09 CRF450 anybody? I have...EFI doesn't help anything. They still stall, it's even more gutless, they still don't start for crap. Remember this years MXDN? Bubba couldn't start his Kawi then either. It's not a Yamaha problem. It's a fucking piece of shit fourstroke problem. This weekend alone I saw a YZ250F suck a valve, and a guy towing his '09 CRF450 to get it started. Until they're fuel injected AND electric start, riders will continue to LCQ, DNS or DNF because their bikes suck at life. EFI isn't changing a damn thing...

...honestly, I see more blown up motors and more no starts BECAUSE of EFI. We'll see how well those systems hold up to dirt bike abuse

I've posted last years Death Toll. Anybody care to call me out and see how this years EFI bikes do??

I didn't follow it last year. I would've thought EFI would help, but what the fuck do I know, I haven't even thrown a leg over any of them. Truthfully, the only thing I think there good for is converting to 500's. I really wish they would just suck it up and re-introduce the 2 cycle. I strongly believe that due to the cost of the 4 strokes and every thing that comes with them, they are driving people from the sport.

This was last years MX carnage...
http://www.bannedcr500riders.com/board/ ... death+toll

And the summary:
MICK wrote:#16 Josh Grant CRF250, Steel City

End of series, 12 rounds of competition ate 19 250Fs and 13 450s. Not to include lappers and general track fodder. Of the riders who don't get copius amounts of teleivsion coverage, I'm sure just as many if not more did the walk of shame...
I wish I could afford a 450 fourstroke...so I could DNF and push it back to the truck like the pros

Mick - it was with a nod to your thread that I continued to mention Dungey's DNF. I got a kick out of your list last season.

I'm glad you found it entertaining
You know when I started keeping track I really had no idea I would be taking note of rider's names EVERY MOTO! And it was only until the season was half over did I catch on to the rider position scroll bar at the top of the screen. Only then did I notice as the laps ticked away, riders who you did not see on TV would begin dropping like flies!! DNF, DNF, DNF, DNF etc...I understand some crash and get hurt. But 12 F'ing riders don't knock themselves out during one moto :!:

Thank god I can stop and rewind my television. I had to go through race results three or four times to get all the DNFd rider's names...
