1980 Honda "RC500"....

Post by redrocket190 »

Image

1980 CR250R frame with either a 1981 CR450R or 1982/1983 CR480R motor. 1979 CR250R aluminum tank. 43mm Showa forks and triple clamps. Picky, but the route of choice is to replace the stock steel swing arm with a 1981 CR450R modified for twin shocks.

Nice though, huh?

Nice bike man. Do you own it? That looks like it should be in a Museum!

awesome bike, I want one! Ya its a 450 engine, I've got one in a box at home, but am lacking the $ to build a bike like that out of it!
I'd like to build an aluminum frame for it, and find one of those tanks.

If anyone reading this has an ignition, or reed from an old 450 like this, or an '81 250 let me know!

Do you ride it???
How's the power hit? The 450 I had was a killer, I witnessed it throw a few of my friends to the ground..

Not mine - I only have an old 250. It comes from http://www.alp-sys.com/honda-elsinore/ which is dedicated to restoring old Elsinores. Anything from the early-mid 1980s is welcomed so you older 480/500 owners should drop by.

...so when are you going to step up and restore a CR80 for your daughters?
