Did you get to at least see your bike hit the ground and lose her virginity?

"You aren't learning if your not crashing..."

I could never figure out when my kids were small and I'd swat them on the butt they scream bloody murder... and when they would crash they would always jump up and say the same thing "I'm OK!" hahahaha glad your little girl is "Ok"

I was out of beer that day  At least I broke myself in at the same time as the bike!

I hear you Mike about the kids, I think we adults are just the same; well in a sense. We can pound a liter of booze to the point of being sick and still go riding at first light of day; but wake up on a work day with a minor headache and call in sick!!! Or as in my case, keep on riding dirty wound with dripping blood and all  It landed in tall grass, so it sucked up most the blow; sure it saved the plastics from getting rashed, but I will tell you as I watched it taper out on its climb to orbit and start falling back to earth... Its short life did flash before my eyes, I was expecting much more then just a broken lever  Just got thru going over it top to bottom and there are no other issues; stock CRF bars did not even bend!

Robert... Yes it was an OEM lever. However I need to check, I think my local stealership had a crap load of MSR levers for like 12 bucks and will most likely pick one up first thing tomorrow if that is the case.... If not you might be hearing from me!

Not me, but this is almost exactly what I did; of coarse Mr. Mason here in the pic was dropping from 20-25 feet and me just a few!!!!

Figured I had better throw in some completed pics to close the thread. Added MX-Tech suspension, Renthal twin wall high bend bars with ASV F3 levers and got some black fork guards.

Here is the beast all cleaned up and ready for the long Iowa winter, what you can't see in the pics is the shrouds are all scratched from my knee braces and the nice polished frame is getting dull from the boots!! Actually looking like a dirt bike now
Graphics will come this spring when I get them for the 88 TRX250R I am building.

Grand total of this bare frame up build with the engine, all the bling, labor, small fortune at HPD and the suspension is just under $5k...

How tall are you? Those bars would work for Bob or Jay fo so. Also that front brake line might need to be a bit longer with the ape hangers. That's one nice looking bike though!

Oh yeah I am 6'3-1/2" tall, 35-36" inseam, but long upper body; shirts always fit short on me so I am always flashing the Glock  The bars are RC high bend with MSR 1 1/8" adapters on stock lower clamps.

Lol... I feel great for my age and act and feel far from it.

Not really a lot of places to ride, there is an "off road" park on the Iowa side of the South Omaha bridge, lot of trails and a small mx track; floods with the thaw. Other then that it is Whitesands (Ashland, NE) $16 when they are open and not bar to bar or one of the tracks like I-80, Persia, Dow city, Marnie that have a practice day and a race the following weekend.

What do you think of the DNA wheels? I need a wider rear for my bike and I am thinking of getting a pair. They sure are a lot cheaper than the Excel's.

I think they are great, spokes have stayed tight and the wheels still roll true thru a few wrecks and lots out riding! I got mine brand new in the box, hubs, bearings, seals and spacers ready for rubber for $500 off eBay!

That's good to know, I see a set for $439.00 on e Bay right now. It's hard to find a set of Excel's for under $700.00.

That's a good deal if they are decent shape. It's a steal if you paid Canadian funds for them. I wish we were still at par with the US dollar.

Aluminum filter cage and twin air filter, should have no intake issues with and the big boot and no back fire screen to slow down the flow.
Image

I did have to put a little heat on the top of the boot where it hit the frame, basicly poked the corner in and its holding that shape; only way the boot would move high enough up. Might use a little more heat and shape it for a better cosmetic look.
Image

Clears the shock nice all around; tried to get a pic, but they sucked.
Image

Got the left rad back from getting the bottom outlet turned up, guy did a nice job. Mounted it and filled the system with water to give it a good flush before the Ice was to go in just to find the right rad has a small leak from the top tank :x Image

And here it sits; I no parts left on the shelf, but the silencer will be in this week :D
Image

Nice scooter you have.did you have to do any other mods to the airbox its self some of the pics are not up anymore.I myself is getting ready to starte my conversion using an 04 450r frame.

I finally got my beast to the point where I would finally call it complete...

Everyone that sees it calls it an AF, so it's now an AF, hopefully AJ and Metallica don't show up at my door  Oh well, it's one of a kind, made by me for me!!!
