i too have been waiting for my baby to be done..mike was up front and told me that he does have a main business to run. and no building conversions is not the thing that puts food on his table for his family. so i sat back and waited, i think the longest out of all of you. its so close to being done i can taste it! i live only an hour away from ttm so i would stop in every so often and check on my bike and see all the others bikes progress as well. building these works of art is not a production line, for the price that mike offers and seeing the time and sweat that goes into them its a damn bargain. sure i wish my bike would have been done sooner but im not going to kick and scream about it. when i do get my bike (in just days), i will have the best 500 around hands down. there are a few steps that are out of the hands of ttm, heat treating, polishing and in franks case powder coating. mike also did a cool little thing for the first few guys, we got our names and production numbers put on the Y.
mike your a stand up guy and i know i can be a pain in the ass too but i know it will be all perfect when i get her. i feel grateful that you built me the best damn conversion out there.
i too could have bought a service honda....but why?

Sorry new here, been lurking a while. But I cannot for the life of me why bitching has to be done in a publc forum. Sounds to me there really is nothing to bitch about and someone needed to vent. While the other is holding up his end. Am I wrong?

Probably newbie....
I can see why Frank is upset....I would hate waiting for a bike too......but considering Mike @ TT does have a business to run first, and also has a life not to mention several bikes to build I can understand his side too. I am going to have TT build an AF for me in the near future and I can only imagine how long the wait time will be then, but in the end I know it will be worth the wait because I know the bike will be SICK !!!!!
If anybody wants to bitch and whine about wait time they can always buy a MPS roller off Ebay for 3 grand and just drop their motor in it......after you remove the rags hiding the fab work.

TTM is probably building the bikes in bunches to keep his costs down, so he waited to have enough people interested before going ahead.Balaclava wrote:I don't want to get involved or pick sides, but the fact it's a 450 conversion shouldn't mean it's going to take 10 months to build. But Frank should also be patient because it's not like throwing a gen3 250 together. Your bike is going to be mikes hardest conversion, with the airbox mod (which is not easy to make look good), the headstay (which mike probably wants to make his own design for), and all the other bullshit that comes with a 450 conversion...I can agree with Frank that he's been waiting a while, but i'm still very very interested in this frame's progress and would love to see pictures of the build because i really appreciate teemtrubbles work regardless.

amen to that....this is not a proper forum for discussing private transactions. Mike, I feel your pain trying to keep the masses happy and to do the best possible work for the fairest amount of money possible. In the end, the only one left unhappy will be you brother. These guys will worship your effort and craftsmanship through their bikes when they get them.

correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this site created because everything on the "other" site was censored. What I like about this site is that there is no sugar coating. I never had intentions of expressing my frustrations on this site, but I guess they got they best of me. You all have to understand I really like Mike and think he does the best work around. I just don't like being told something will be completed just to find out it will be a "few more weeks" or "few more months." I just want the straight story. Anyways enough of all this, this will be my last post on the subject, Mike and I have already spoke. Guess I'll just be the bad guy/cry baby.ShanMan wrote:....this is not a proper forum for discussing private transactions. .

Flexing your rigger skills huh? I bet you move your own machine tools, putting good riggers out of work. Obama would not be happy with you!!!

don't you live in hawaii? even if you get your bike in the next month or two, you will still have 5 months to ride before the snow melts up here and i even get a chance. think about it like that...then it's not so badaloha450x wrote:correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this site created because everything on the "other" site was censored. The irony that Bob and a few others take time in this particular thread to throw out more than a few digs at SH, or any other builder, is what's odd.
I don't have a dog in this fight..
but if folks want to start tossing out the usual digs at SH, i'll point out the silliness of doing so in this thread.
seems fair enough.

2006 S/H CR500AFX
I have asked you several times, publicaly, what S/H is doing in terms of fit and finish to improve its product. You have never responed which has led me to beleive everyting in Indiana is still Status Quo....
I think its sad the Frank has lost the twinkle in his eye waiting for his bike, S/H would have delivered one long ago..... Maybe he would have been happier purchasing one from you...
Or maybe not, if your still building them as shown in the photo above.
The magizine articles only show the bikes from a distance, throwing a big roost..... never the fabrication work up close.
I wonder why?
Tystyx's jab at MPS was funny if you had followed the earlier thread about the MPS clandestine frame photo's. http://bannedcr500riders.com/board/view ... hlight=mpsAJ wrote:The irony that Bob and a few others take time in this particular thread to throw out more than a few digs at SH, or any other builder, is what's odd.

.bob the one comment wasnt an out right dig, glad you could find one. Now care to say you,ve not made any?
Lol
As far as rail alighnment it is. Take a photo of a crf250x at the same angle,
As far as magz go, they have commented for over a decade of how well the bikes are made and fit and finish.they have also had close up photos.severral museams have them on display. Ill take their opinions over guys with an agenda any day.
As far as this thread, how about the thread topic?
Naw that isn't in the readers best interst eh?
And to be equally informative
Start a seperate thread dogging SH , won't be the first won't be the last lol
In the meantime any builder coming here posting "time to rock this place" ' or"X against the industry standard"then charging a premium price, taking months to deliver and still not delivered. And the customer after paying for a conversion still left to work out detials like the airbox fitment?
Would get filleted in here?. Yes or no answers please
I've said something untrue?
So the irony of bringing up any other builders'in this thread, is odd but you'll continue to do so.
Since the flake I take,
seems fair to point out the hypocrasy.
And it received the responce I expected.

Mike's taking a few lumps over delivering Franks bike, there is no free ride on this board AJ.AJ wrote:Yes or no answers please
What isnt known is the agreement of the work to be done, the price, or the payment plan.
If you re read the thread AJ, you'll see I state maybe Frank would have been beter off with a S/H... He surely would have received it quicker, assuming payment wasnt an issue.
Obviously that pic that bob posted is the worst S/H conversion i've ever seen...they usually look alot cleaner, I don't even know what all those extra mounts are for? skid plate?? i don't even know. Anyways AJ i think you are a great bike building company but i am more of a diy kind of guy and have come to realize the work i do on my own bikes is damn near the quality of S/H. I agree it looks like TeemTrubble is having a problem with their ability to pump out the bikes as quickly as S/H does, but TTM i feel will eventually be the leading fabricator of quality AFCR500's...Maybe not quantity, but if I had the money i would get TTM or S/H to build my bike for sure. No offence to anyone here, we are all bros and i love service honda and teemtrubbles motorcycles. I feel that whoever has a problem with S/H's work is coming from a completely political point of view, because i feel AJ does nice work, has never said anything offensive that i can remember and is much more successful then any of the builders on this site. The only reason i could say i've seen more ugly S/H work then TTM work is because he's built SOOO many more bikes and mike has yet to fuck up anything. Anyways i dont' know what i'm trying to get at...i'm super bakedAJ wrote:Typical but nice diversion
