Pinnacles....

Post by AlisoBob »

Pretty good ride today....a little on the hot side... but good.

I'm so bad with names.... South Central Hoon took a header early in the ride... Contuined on for another 15 miles or so, until the pain got too great. No shame in that..... he'll heal up quickly and be back... Nice to meet you.

Ryans wingman " Maverick" is off the hook. Good rider, and funnier than hell. Only bummer in the 4 stroke KTM..... too bad.

Ryan's steelie is sweet! We swapped for a bit, and if this engine ends up in is TTM bike, it will be a winner.

TTM Mike rode my bike for a bit too, almost gave me a compliment....

Everyone oogled on his TTM machine.... Pretty nice ride!

Also met Too Fast 4U from Traces side of the fence... Nice guy and good rider.

"Hoon of the Day" award goes to Mike Stiles.... Red Rocket 190. He was a little out of his element today ( Rocks and singletrack arent his usual terrain of choice). He put that S/H through its paces.. this isnt any garage queen like allot of the S/H bikes!! It was good to see one being used as intended..... even better to see it start in 1 kick w/ a brand new OEM ignition installed. Great riding with you Mike!

We did 38 mikes, then stopped to eat and bullshit. WAY BETTER than being at work.

We met up with some locals who showed us around.. thanks guy's...

All in all, a great Thursday was had by everyone!

I know, no photos.. we were having to much fun!!

or was that Vikes. Dam how did everyone get home after that.

Hot! how could it be hot up there? It was only 83 at GH today.

I can attest that Mikes bike is not a garage queen for sure and it would be riden more if he could. Guess he got a smaller pilot in there too.

i only counted 2 mikes there and i'm sure i didn't do either one of them.

oh wait 38 miles....whats on your mind bob?

the ride was great, loved the stop at deep creek to cool off with a little soak and splash. i still dont know how that guy in that little car got all the way back there.... being able to get out on a weekday was the best and needs to happen alot more!! thanks bob for getting me on your bike, that thing is sweet, the jetting was awesome, super smooth all around and have to love the bars!!

S. Central how you feeling today? heal up brother.

teemtrubble - thanks for everything, always good to see you. I'm still suprised you and maverick (kyle) didnt just go rip off the yamaha bikes for a couple of hot laps. i'm sure the yamaha guys would have cared?

too fast 4U (scott) had a super clean steelie.. wish you could have stayed longer bro.

stiles....your my hero, you ran that SH without a care in the world, im glad TTM was able to get you hooked up with the stock iginition so you could ride with us, always cool to ride with you.

Maverick----get a real bike..electric startin' 4 strokin' ktm bastard

thanks guys had a fun time with all of you.

I guess for the first off-road ride ever it didn't go too bad - only the ego and the LH radiator took a real beating. But I had a blast and as they say practice makes perfect, I am up for the next one.

Hat tips - Mike for the test ride, stock ignition, and help with the munched rad. Bob for the test ride, jetting tips and parts. For everyone else, thanks for the company.

Bottom line - don't **** with something that works. Stock Honda is best. And the CR500R engine is really really good for something supposed to a dinosaur and difficult to ride.
