Ya the Flat tax is packaged up very nice. Sounds great to the average Joe.

BUT! for the ones in the know, the current system would work if ever the Feds would follow the law as written.

After 30+ plus years your IRS agent STILL can't even point to the law that requries one to file and pay. Now ask yourself "Why is this?"

I'm not well-read enough to debate the whole constitutionality of the current tax system. But we all know that if it proved that you didn't have to file - then the tax demand would simply move to some other vehicle (corporations, sales, property etc.). Problem numero uno is the size of the demand, problem numero duo is deciding how you are going to collect.
