I think he's German did all this fantastic plasticy work on the human body and engineered it all into an art which subsequently pissed off the artists in this world and made a lotta people think he was morbid....
But alas - his quest has proven a usefull tool to show humanity about humans as they are stripped of flesh - some take it as morbid some take it as gross and a lot take it as simply fascinating - to show what is inside us all and preserve it to show what we are all physically made of.
A lot of the subjects you see in his works are career criminals and such dregs that gave their lonesome souls to science - among others
