Kenneeady Meadows was changed to Evans Flat

Post by teemtrubble »

As some of you know we changed our plans because the trails were closed at Kenneady Meadows so we got an inside tip on a new place from the District OHV supervisor called Evans Flat. Well we got up to Evans at about 2:30 on Thursday all I can say is that you guy's missed an epic place to camp, ride hang out with your friends it was "FUCKING AWESOME!" The atmosphere the people the food the drink everything! The trees were so thick you could see in some places where the sun probably hadn't touched the ground in a 100 years. I can say for sure were going back soon! I'll post up some pic's tomorrow.

Ya it was an awesome weekend to go. How cold was it? and I take it that's Nine Mile Canyon Rd. going in and out?

Also while I'm thinking about it, do you do the rad mods on a gen 3 cr250 rad? Thinking about getting a spare.

So is Evans Flats at the summit off 178?

I saw a ride spot there once a long time ago.

There's a MX track there somewhere next to Lake Isabella off the 178 but, there's a couple hundred miles of trails. Evans Flat is at the Greenhorn Summit you take the 178 to the 155 to Rancharia Rd turn left and it's 8 miles.

In attendance were...

teemtrubble and troop
lewisclan and clan
capitanjakeman solo
teamdns and family
scott solo

Many thanks to everone who showed up and made it a bitchen weekend my Family and I are going back soon! After the Groms get out of school.

Great pics Mike and thanks for sharing this with us. Living in a flat state, I envy the elevation.

I a good idea where that track is. I think in July they have a "Race around The Lake" there. Desto did it last year.

If I'm gona drive that far I'd rather ride the trails in the forest.

We showed up Friday night just before dark to a full looking camp site. I pulled in and found Mike, he had just about the whole camp around him move there trucks they where already doing it as I stepped out of my truck, it was a planned thing me bringing in a big trailer …..Anyway we got parked and the Mike treated us to a kickass dinner before we even unloaded thanks again Teem Trubble.

Riding was nice we took James a 12 year old through some really tough stuff and he was having clutch problems anyway we made it back to camp just to have is cable break.

That night prime rib all you can eat and Margaritas …… glad you suckers didn’t make it saved me a lot of $$. The food was to die for nuff said.

Day 2 the surrounding camps know of some single track that will make us cry…..OK
So we head out with them and find some really awesome riding it was really punishing the bikes but no one from our camp crying. I thought we where going to have the Medics there to take care of one of there own but TT & the Clan where good to go.

That night pork loin………..I am not going to say anymore. Suckers

The next day it had been raining through the night so it was really wet, the kids where in it and had to be pulled off the bikes to get cleaned up enough to load up.

It was truly one of the best trips we have had to date, best this year no drought. We look forward to heading out there again and to riding & camping with everyone that came out.
Mike you have a 1st class outfit thanks for your family’s friendship.
