I started planning out how I'm going to make an extended swingarm with my old '86 swingarm and my spare gen-1 swingarm. looks like it will work very well and get me about 7" extension

sweet, thanks dude!
hey, how much extension are most poeple running? the way my swingarm plan is working out it will be +5-7 or +2-4 with a little adjustment. the cool thing is the '86 swingarm it just a square peice with the adjusters as inserts that thread into a cap at the rear, so all I have to do it cut slots and lengthen the bolt at the rear of the inserts and I could put the axle further forward. The way it looks right now, by default it will sit at +6" which I think will be a good starting point.

there is really nothing to post I dont run a slider for the caliper, I had one custom made by Pete Loomis ... he said I wouldent need it but I wanted it anyway. I have 3 extened 500s and dont use one on any of em. I just let the caliper rest on the swingarm it wont move unless you are rolling backwards.dannygraves wrote:post it Jay, I wanna see too!

looks good man you will like it. word of advice from a newbie that found out a few things the hard way.....if its the stock 5.6 spring, becareful before you go bajaing it like a madman- the rear fender might catch and get ripped up in the tire, and the rear shock might bottom out and bend shit. just saying brotha, would hate to see your bike out of comission again
