I've got an 03 CRF450 roller that I was planning on using as the basis for my first AFC, but I recently found a complete running 03 CR250 for $1800, possibly less. I figure I can sell the 250 motor and make at least half of my $$ back on that one, and sell the 450 roller, but I'm not sure if its worth the trouble.
The 450 is stock, though i did pick up a set of emig 20mm offset triples on flea bay to make it handle better. The 250 has pro tapers, an applied upper clamp and a new DID chain. Which would you choose if you were faced with this dilemma???
450 or 250, that is the question

The 250 is overall a better bike and a 450 is more work to make. What year is the 450?AngryShawn wrote:Oh boy, looks like I opened pandora's box by writing that oneAngryShawn wrote:What would you do if you were me???

If you are taller or are going to be doing mostly high speed off road then probably the 450 but the 250 is a more agile package. The 450 is or has been way easier to get parts for period on the frame subframe seat airbox plastics!
