Does anyone know if the XR petcock will interchange with the CR other than the direction of the outlet? I'd like to have a reserve function on my tank.
Thanks,

I cant believe someone doesnt make/sell a reserve petcock kit for race bikes. If your racing, just leave it on reserve all the time. If youre doing everything else, reserve = time enough to get back to the truck!
Keep us informed, if it does work, This will be the next upgrade on the 500.

The reserve capacity is easily adjusted by altering the length of the main tank pickup tube. I have only ever had to extend one once, and standard clear fuel hose fitted perfectly. Because the factories are usually quite generous on reserve capacity, mostly the requirement is to shorten the original pickup tube with a craft knife.AlisoBob wrote:
The challenge is prolly' getting one with the right reserve capacity. Look for a XR tank the most resembles a CR tank , like a XR600 or something....
