Well, I think I'm on track for Glamis this season, MOtor mounts all finished, Pipe mounted, Even had it running, bump start.
Have some new bodywork on the way, Full Bores.
Air box just needs some mount holes, that's tomorrow.
I think I'm going to have to fabricate an Aluminum gas tank, anyone in the SoCal area that wants to help, chime in

This pic you can see the airbox, with a huge Uni connected with a 'zilla intake, it's a little close to the shock spring, I'll see if there is one available with a smaller diameter.Image

Here is the pipe mounted, it attaches to the nurf bar, it's OK, not planning to run without anyway. Ya it's loud, going to look into some way of quieting it down, or bring ear plugs.

And a couple views with my temporary tank no body.

Hope it drives as good as it looks!

Are the upper control-arm mounts (attached to the large frame spars) billet aluminum? they look OEM, they match the frame very nicely.

Most all the frame is Cannondale, the suspansion and frame has not been a week link, well except for the carrage, I'll be keeping an eye on that for cracks.

So I finished the gas tank, was hoping for at least 3.5 gallons, actually holds 4.5. I'm using the XR650 petcock, I have about 1 gallon when I hit reserve. Took it out to Glamis for a shake down, no pun intended, for whatever reason, solid mounting, aluminum frame or I just got lucky, it did not have any of the vibrations that everyone talks about when mounted in a quad frame, it was probably about the same as in the bike, very tollerable. I didn't finish the kick start so it was a bit of a pain depending on a pull start. only issue I had was that it through a chain, I think it just stretched too much and no guide at the rear sprocket.
Couple thinge I need to work on, shifter needs extending about 2", have to finish the kick start lever, chain guide and figure out how to fit a silencer.

little update on this:
took it out to Glamis a couple weeks ago, ran it all weekend and had no issues :D
Starts easy with or without the comp release, have a silencer on the pipe which helps to make it more pleasant to ride. it has very mild porting at this time but ran wheel to wheel with a buddies LT500, his maybe has some port work and Jerry Hall pipe so that is my benchmark.
Suspension worked fine, could maybe use just a little lighter rear spring. vibration, didn't even notice, less than in the bike frame. this seems to be the setup if you wanted to put a CR5 in a quad frame.
I'll be going out the weekend before TG, I'll get some current picks, pipe is now black with aluminum silencer, Honda wing on the tank.
I need to change the gearing a little, it's in 5th gear too early up olds.

Went to Dumont this last weekend, beautiful weather, rain stopped just as I turned onto the dirt road on Saturday and was great until I left on Wednesday.

Notice the new articulating swing arm  time for a redesign and maybe find a new welder?Image

Thinking the weld let go first, tube to the bearing carrier, then the extra stress on the chain side was too much.
I was able to ride it back to camp, when I pulled it apart only two things were holding it together, a 6mm screw holding the chain glide to the swing arm and the brake stay.
Image

Not to worry, still had the old gen II 500 and the pilot to play with

New swing arm made, just need to try to brake it for a while to make sure it's okay, uses the casting from the CR250 and the rear casting from a TRX450 with some doubling plates, probably over kill now.

Wow!
That was quite the fab job...
I'm betting you'll get it sorted out.
Nice work
