I have a '91 500 with some jetting issues. The bike wont idle to start and I believe it is too rich from off idle to ~1/8-1/4 throttle. after about 1/4 the bike feels good up to the top but I do have real bad vibrations from 3/4 on, bad enough that at wfo I can hold onto the bars, I know these beast are known for vibrations but I think it has more then normal.
I recorded this video running through 2nd 3rd and 4th gears, all three gears I start at fully closed and do a consistent roll up to wfo. Any advice where to start on this would be great.

So I checked my reeds and lo and behold the top reeds were stock honda and bottom were the after markets....got those swapped out for a new set of the "super stock" fiber glass reeds and bike seems to run a bit cleaner now but i still have the original issue.
Ive reread the jetting stickys and plan on doing this:
Swapping from 45 pilot to a 48
swapping 68 needle to a 70 (clip is in the top position now)
leaving main alone
For fun i turned my air screw out 3 turns and adjusted the idle down to 0 to lean out as much of the range as I could and the 1/4 to 3/4 throttle seemed to clean up a bit, the bike of course didnt idle at all or even seem like it was trying
Does this seem like Im going in the right direction?
Also where are you guys ordering carb parts online, I live in the middle of nowhere....

I've got a completely rebuilt OEM carburetor (just completely torn apart, throughly cleaned and rejetted 55 pilot, 175 main and clip on position 3. The carb runs flawlessly! I'm looking for $125 shipped (includes all the vent lines)

Which carb do you have?
Your idle sounds lean and fast to me.

That was the OEM stocker and absolutely was lean!!!!
I now have a new 39mm PWK in it aetup as such: I've yet to ride it because it's 11* outside and the roads and grass and sheets of ice!!! That carb in that video had a 50 pilot, R1368NS clip with 2nd clip from the top and 170 main and it was 22* when the video was taken.
