1998 cr250 forks

Post by mocr13 »

I got a pair of 1998 cr250 forks on a bike I wanted for parts ,he said his buddy did something(?) to the forks to make the bike short for him.well today I thought I would see what was done to them that my novice eye could detect first thing I find right off the bat is compression adjusters on fork cap will not bottom out, just keep spinning,i don't think this is normal, wht would that do to forks? any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated! thanks mocr13

take it apart and see
the proper and easiest way to lower forks is to put a spacer on the damping rod, its not atached or anything (grey 1/2 CPVC plastic pipe works great)
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.
