need lower brake pedal
need lower brake pedal
I need to replace my rear brake pedal, and would like it to sit alittle lower by 1.5" - 2". Are aftermarket ones adjustable, or do I need to find one that's shaped the way I want it? Anyone else have issues with the placement of this? What specific part will do the trick / is the best quality? I just got the ims shift lever, so a matching brake pedal would be a bonus! It's an 87 btw.

You probably won't be able to find a fancy brake pedal. If you want it lower, you'll likely have to bend / cut it, and if you want something fancy, you could put a hammer head tip or something like this on:

It doesn't need to be anything too fancy.... maybe I will make one at work based off the original, just alittle lower. It just feels weird... like I have to point my toes up a bit too much to get over it.

Looked closer at that pedal. The adjustment at the master cylinder is pretty much used up. The master cylinder's bolt holes have been elongated to make room for a banjo bolt with pressure switch built in. So I need to start by finding something with a low profile that will clear the subframe without relocating the master cylinder. It could still use a new, quality pedal... Suggestions?
That about sums it up

You could cut the pivot point off and weld it on lower.

Something like this should give me enough room to use the correct mounting point.
