I'm a step dad to 3 great kids, well adults now, been step dad for 21 years now. as far as I'm concerned they are the same as if they were my own kids.
their father on the other hand is a dead beat, has not kept up on child support and has not visited them for about 17 years. I just hope he has them in an insurance policy.

I was lucky. My stepfather was good to me. When I was still in high school there were times if I had a day off he would take me on his route for the day delivering and on occasion repo freezers. As a result I learned LA freeways and that has stuck with me ever since. Now I look back and my parents were just trying to keep me out of trouble. 
He's 88 now and not doing to well and pretty much cant leave the house.
And yeah I haven't been here much lately and haven't mentioned My Uncle of 89 years passed July 17th. The service is in Tampa FL. and won't be until the Sept 28th. Mostly because the friends are snow birds and are not flying south until then. Guess I'll start another blog.
