Tough crowd for sure, I wasn't trying to be tough on him, you just see people change their mind on things all the time often at a substantial loss. The bike looks really nice and he should be able to get a nice chunck of his cash back. Some hoarders like myself just keep everything even if they never use it, so who is the knucklehead...the guy with some cash back in his pocket or the guy with 2000 plus sqft of garage space stuffed full of crap.

Trans gearing changes from year to year:

Notice how the chart indicates changes from 88-92, then from 93-01. Hence the change happening in 93.

i got no issues with someone selling a bike after 1 ride, i do have issues with people anodising, polishing, and washing there bikes instead of riding them.....

Sell that 500 quick, I'm selling mine.....I just realized mine has those Magnesium cases, it's a 1992 motor. How would I fix the Mag cases if they fail? Plus I hear Magnesium will blow up if it gets hot. Why did Honda do this to me? So all the black painted cases are actually Mag cases?

This is all such bad news, I have been riding 500's since 1988 and to find all of this out so late in the game is a real bummer. Please tell me what bike you think would work well for a 250lb novice rider.
