WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!

I just spoke with Robie, and he sounds great!! I've had two other friends suffer head injuries in the past couple of years... and it was sad to speak with them when they got out of the hospital, because you could tell they were "different".... the cadence in their speech, the words they used, the pauses....

But Robie sounded 110% like Robie today!

He is still suffering from blurred / double vision and has parts of his memory to regain, but he's confidant that this will clear up with time.

He's already chucked his cane, and can walk pretty good unassisted. He said that standing on one foot is a challenge, as is walking backwards. I told him thats pretty normal, even for those of us without a brain injury!!

He really likes the facility he's at, and that he can feel himself improve with each and every day. Sonya is a big part of that, and he doesnt know where he would be without her....

Thanks Sonja......

Hey, guys. Thanks so much for all the help to try to get better and to Bob for the use of the site, it helps me more than you know. It's taking me forever to type, but I'm trying my best. I'm doing pretty good and after looking at my gear / bike, things could be a lot worse for me. I could be in a wheel chair or paralyzed pretty easily. It's been about six weeks since my injury and thanks to my wife as Bob said, she has gotten me into a program that pushes me pretty good to get back where I was before. I'm a long way from that though and just hope to stop seeing double asap, cause that is my biggest challenge right now. It's really frustrating for me when I see double looking down or to the side. I feel as if I'm making some progress though and speaking with people that have had head injuries, I feel it's kinda what you have inside you that determines your outcome. Last week was the most I've done besides my looooong class. My brother took me to Troy Lee to see all of them and I brought my helmet to my buddy in the R & D dept. He said it was crushed like an egg and he has never seen a SE3 with this much damage. I said it was his to have and hope it helps prevent injuries in the future for riders to come. After we went to the Rick Huseman memorial fund raiser at Poleposition, where I did some great spectating. Absolutey awesome, they raised over $100,000 for his wife and kids fund. On Sat I got to go to the hills with my Dad and Bro to give orders on how to build things, which was fun. It's a lot for me right now to deal with mentally and physically, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I don't know whats gonna happen too me, no doctors can tell me. All I know is that I have ridden a motorcycle for 32 years. I have been to places, won races and championships that I had only dreamed of. So, I'm very thankful for everything no matter the outcome. Sorry it's so long, took me forever to type. Hope all is well with you guys, thanks a million, have fun on your next ride and keep the rubber side down.

I sure would have liked to see a pic of that helmet.
I know a couple of doosh bags who don't wear them at all.
A helmet is the first line of defense in my opinion.
Great to hear from you man, keep talking to us.

So Sweet..... Thanks Bob :D

The photo is from Milestone. The helmet did it's job, if I didn't have that chest protector and neck brace on I would be in a wheel chair for sure.

Gonna beat this brain injury one way or another. Thanks guys, you rule.

Not a whole lot of progress.... still has vision and memory problems.

Its a long , uphill battle.

Robie's a fighter, but I know somedays the frustration level is pretty high for him.

I'll try to get him to do an update, I dont want to be trying to answer for him, but I know hill will appriciate the thoughts sent his way.

Thanks for asking Tharrell....
