Wanted: 90-01 frame head tube

Post by louis mielke »

I need a head tube from a 90-01 frame for a project.

Anyone have a bad frame who wants to lop off the head tube and sell or give away?

I have a couple old frames I was going to scrap, you can have a head tube, may even have a pink to go with it but no gurantees on that as we don't have to register dirtbikes in Nevada. Nothing is hot so I could sign anything you need signed. Let me know and I will saw it off this weekend.

The ice race guys I used to hang out with would weld a "second" steerin head in front of the original one and swap the triple clamps over to lengthen the bike and at the same they would pull the front forks at a steeper angle for different turning.

It gave them a choice of a swap around to almost effectively have two different geometrys to be able to choose.

Looked wierd but seemed to work for them.

I'm hacking it up today, your welcome to the rails but this was one of my bike frames I rode so it looks like all the bikes I ride and the tubes are womped out and flattened from bashing rocks. I am going down to visit my parents Next weekend (the 11th) I could bring it. Your in the Bay Area right?

No skidplates for you either eh? All they ever seemed to do for me is get in the fricken way.

No I actually run a skid plate, I am just such a fat ass and have so little control of my bike that I smear it all over rocks like cream cheese on my bagel this morning.
