center cases

i see that you can buy either the left or right side seperatly so does that mean that there not machined together, and can mismatch them from one engine to another and has anyone done this

you would think theyre machined as a pair but hell i really dont know regarding the hondas. alot of folks have used mixed match cr500 because the kicker area breaks. ive never heard of problems from doing so :confused: . ktm are only sold in pairs. thats what the parts fishe shows any how. leads me to believe theyre definatly machined together.

That's a good one to know.
I know Kawasaki is sold in pairs also.
I was told they (K) were line bored?
One of our resident machine gurus will probably set the record straight.

thats what i noticed that since they are sold indeviualy that you could interchange them

i wouldnt sweat it. alot of guys mixed them without any problem that ive heard of.

Yes and yes. Honda stopped selling matched cases for MXers in the
70s. Production tolerances are such that cases can be mixed and
matched without drama.
