Post by maddog1927 »

I have s set of ktm forks. I think they are from an '07 525. Whats the word on the WP forks? Do guys like them? Looks like I need to bore the tripples about 1mm to accept.

It may come to that!

I did a little measuring.

'01 cr250 '01 yz250, '02 cr250 all have same fork tube o.d.

52.8mm @ top clamp
58.3mm @ bottom clamp

'97 cr500

52.8mm @ top clamp
58.8mm @ bottom clamp

'07 KTM 525

53.80 @ top clamp
59.90 @ bottom clamp

All bikes "eye balled" 35mm axle offset forward from center of tube.

I had Emig bore some tripples to put the WP forks on my 125 convert. I will cover it later in my build.

Ride report form a weekend at glamis. I am satisfied with the way they feel.

I've had a lot of KTM's thru the years, 1st one was a 77 Penton 250MX, still have an 08 200. Don't know why anyone would prefer WP forks over about any honda fork. I wil say that the 08 WP's are better than the prior years.

I needed forks anyway and I liked the black KTM's.

I probably should have just anodized some cr250 showas.

I have one trip on the bike to glamis sand dunes. The forks felt fine to me.

Some of you other guys that ride more and in more technical stuff than I could give a more technical ride report.

This did give me the larger ktm front brake.
