what do you do when your paper gasket is toast. Where do you get a new one from, or do you use a liquid gasket?

High temp is good, also u can specify which ones you want. Paper or the o-ringt style, that's what I did anyway

Dredge on the other site told me he had 1 or 2 of them crack like egg shells when he smacked against something. we don't even have rocks here.

I am not a fan of the boyesen covers, but it came with the bike. would ultra black and no paper gasket work?

I've cracked their ignition covers. Very brittle thin cast aluminum. The stock thin cast aluminum and magnesium ones even seem to be stronger or will dent a bit before shattering

And the paper gasket thing sucks! Both on the clutch and ignition covers

ace hardware has gasket material. seems like it was only couple bucks. have to cut it yourself but it save shipping charges

I have both Boyesen covers on my bike (95CR500) and they were also on there when I got it. I haven't had any problems with them. I just installed a Hinson basket and the clutch cover was glued on with Hondabond and never leaked a drop. Bad side of it is that shit is hell to get off.... until I decided to use a little aircraft stripper on its ass. Put a little in a cup and q-tip it on because it will also take off the paint if your messy but it bubbles up the Hondabond in minutes. After I got that stuff off I re-sealed the cover with Permatex Ultra black and again no leaks plus the Ultra black rubs off soooo much easier. I don't see the reason to get all worried about a paper gasket unless you really feel the need to spend $6 or $7 bucks plus shipping for them.
