CRF450 shock length?

Presently I have a 2002-3 CRF450 shock on my 2008 450. I didn't measured it yet but I read somewhere it is smaller than the 2008 one and I guess it is affecting my bike.

I would like to know what year measure what lenght.

So if someone has a shock laying around, can you measure it eye-to-eye in mm?

pretty sure yours is 489mm eye to eye, the newer ones are approx 20mm longer.
