cometic gasket kit?

Post by juanci41 »

I was wondering about how good is the cometic gasket kit (cylinder). I will be performing my first piston change since new(1997). Still have super compresion but lately I have use the bike more often. Thinking of staying oem with everything(piston, gaskets,)The bike should be around 60-80 hrs of use in its lifetime.

The only cometic gasket I use is the base gasket, being coated steel they are better than the stock cardboard that blows out.

the cometic intake and exh are superior to oem, the head gasket is similar, with the exception of it beeing larger bore, so if you go 89.5+ the gasket doesnt hang into the cyl and hotspot

I've used them over the years with no problems. There's some good deals on flebay for complete sets.

26$ landed and they are good, i've used 5 sets, kball has used a few, i have 3 sets on hand aswell, always use cometic topends tho, another dude sells the same gaskets from within the usa for 38.80......

they always have both center gaskets 1985-88 and 89+, one arrived with little tears in irrelivant places, i messaged the seller with a picture and he sent a new set n/c
