yeah, I've been using MSSE for months now and it works really well. It doesn't catch as much as some of the others, but it is really easy on resources and I've never seem an infection shut it off.

Norton/symantec are actually targeted by viruses which attack the a/v to let their all their hommie viruses in so they can have a little party. Does your system run like crap now?
if you can't install MSSE (after uninstalling norton of coarse) doen load www.malwarebytes.com and run a scan with it to clean up, then install msse, the free malwarebytes doesn't do an active scan, so you can leave it installed with another antimalware program.

I used it on a really nosty system and 1 small peice of malware didn't get caught that a later scan with kaspersky did catch, but it run so damn well that I'm been installing it everywhere

BTW, I was torrenting the other day and MSSE caught a few that were inside RAR files ;)

I had a neighbor with one, it was clean as fukk and he puished it more than he rode it, and I'm serious, I saw him pushing it on del mar street one weekend, then the next weekend he was pushing it up pico ave, then a few weeks later he was pushing it on via fabricante. Always carb and/or ignition problems

What gives?

Have a look in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download
There's a bunch of directories there with update.exe's in them. Just run each of them manually. See if that cures it.
