On the rear shock linkage, I needed to replace the U shape on a 94 due to damage. I got linkage off a 92 (so they said) that has the same part number as my 94 for the U part. The other piece of linkage from the 92 (with 3 holes) is in better shape than the 94, but as I understand it is different. They both have the same number stamped in them. The only difference I see is it looks like one hole is off center. Is that the only difference, and if it is can I use my linkage bearing kit for the 94 on the 92 part with the 3 holes? Another thought is with the same number stamped them are they actually the same & one if not both bikes had the parts switched at one point in their lives? These better works better after all this headache! Any info would be a big help.

Ok I'll bite. Those casted #'s are of no concern, you need actual part #s.
Goto www.mrcycles.com here one can search the part #s
91-93 #26 52460-ML3-790 $180.96 Ouch!
94 #30 52465-ML3-305 $142.15
95-97 ..................
Personally I would go with 95 and newer. Reason why, somewhere I found the dimentions of the links themselfs'. As an example, (these are not the actual dimentions)
91-93 is say 1",
94 was changed to 1 1/2", apparently the engineers felt 1 1/2 was to much and in,
95 and newer, engineering settled on 1 1/4.
My supension guy made this known to me as it important to know when revalving the shock for 94.
