Tire time

Post by britincali »

Now I fukin love the S12 thats on my AF but its absolutly toast, done, dusted, chunked and abused.

I need a new rear.

I aint got any money

I saw these at the local bike shop on sale for $28....

http://www.revzilla.com/product/maxxis- ... m7308-tire

Now the last maxxis I had was the desert IT and I hated it, no I despised it, it was the hardest non traction piece of shit ever to grace a rim.

But a tire for under $35 OTD seems like a good deal, I aint buying it for the dunes as I have a paddle for that but how do you think this one will stack up on rocky trails? Am I just wasting money by being cheap?

I can get an S12 for about $75 but I cant justify spending that on a toy right now, $35 is much easier to swallow. But I dont want something that is gonna make my bike ride like shit on a trail.....

I bought two tires with a budget minded conscious when I was younger. A Maxxis and Cheng Chin...They each share a spot in my memory as the WORST tires I've had the unfortunate privilege of riding with. In this sport, with our bike's capabilities I no longer see an advantage of sacrificing performance for nickels and dimes. A tire can make a $6000 bike feel like a $3000 machine. You're talking about $40 for Christ sakes! If you can't afford that you probably just need to quite riding all together until you can. If a guy honestly likes those cheaper tires then more power to him!! But my opinion is that they're garbage

...Honestly Brit if you need money that bad for some decent rubber I'll send you a couple bucks  Get a couple other members to support your habit and you're good to go. I just don't want to hear that you spent $35 on a tire for your CR500

I hear what your saying bigtime

They aint a $30 chen ching POS tire, he must have bought a shitload of them and is trying to clear them out, they sell for $75 + online.

It aint that im THAT broke its just trying to justify spending money on toys im having an issue with

I know the owner of the shop personally and I asked him what there like, he told me bitchin in sand and shit on hardpack. I aint gonna get one.

I also asked him about takeoffs, he said hes got a crapload in the back I can go dig through on tuesday

Is it an 18" or a 19".
I have a 120 x 18 and a front that I am willing to sell.
Both are S-12's with one ride on them. Like new.
