Motul mix oil???

At the advise of a freind of mine at the cycle shop I am switching from Klotz to Motul. He has a CR 500 also and says that it nearly removed all the smoking and the blubber that Klotz makes. Does anyone else run Motul? Like it, Hate it? Tell me what you think. They had 927 there to however the bottle I got just mixes 5 gal. so there is no measuring needed.

any oil will spooge if the motor isnt tuned right

this new guy Bill was behind me today and when we stopped he asked me what oil I was running since it smells so good

he said someone told him 927 gunks his motor and I laughed and told him its the goods

Good read Bob. Pretty compelling reasons to run Castor/927. An old slow guy like me is probably fine with synthetics but it doesn't hurt to have the added protection.

Only Green Label Blendzall for me. I have a pint of 927 but haven't run it... I know there's nothing wrong with it but I am resistant to change.

I've always ran Blendzall and nothing but it, but I will never change after I burnt a hole in a piston, and burned away most of the exhaust side of the piston above the top ring, but it didn't seize... the jug slid right off.

If it wasn't for the fact that the sleeve shattered on the intake side, I would have kissed it with a hone and slapped in a new Wiseco.

I just think oil is oil...
some may be better in a torture test than others but my application is hardly a torture test. What I believe matters most is the quantity of oil a person uses. I've used Torco GP7 @ 50:1 for ten years and have had absolutely no reason to feel my motor would last another day on a different brand. This will be the last case of Torco I polish off before I begin to use Amsoil Dominator because I get it for less on their "preferred customer" program. I don't expect a change for the better or worse.

The only oil I've used that I felt was sub standard was Bel-Ray. It would begin to smoke like a bug fogger towards the end of every race. Which I understand is an indication the oil has reached it's flash point upon contact with the hottest parts. Effectively burning off reducing lubrication, and setting the conditions for a stuck piston. That was @ 40:1, running 32:1 made little difference and worse yet I found the KDX200 motor was all fowled up with carbon deposits. The piston crown, head, power valve and exhaust manifold were uber gunked. Was the only time I can honestly say an oil brand change actually improved engine performance and life.
