X Games 16 - Speed and Style

Post by hoofarted »

Went to the last day of X Games 16 yesterday with my son. Bitchen seats - right next to the box seats, diagonal from the media pits at Staples Center.

Was actually a pretty damn good show. The speed and style is where they build a small MX track with a couple large ramps in the center for FMX tricks. The best part was the eliminations where riders went head to head. Pastrana owned all, as expected - handing everyone's asses to them on his trusty RM smoker. Twitch biffed twice; the second time he decided to finish the round instead of folding. Good thing, because his opponent (Renner IIRC) stalled out his POS 4-poke and got passed.

Best part of the night, kid got to see his first pair of flashed b00bs in the stands!

So all in all, was better than I expected - real entertaining. Kid was asking about "the ranch" as I had talked about it before. Wants his own track now.

Here's some fone cam pics I snapped and a link to a vid of Pastrana towards the end:

the bike in the pics wasn't the bike he rode in the event. But yes, that chain was too tight. :)

Pastranas chain is too tight.
his mechanic must be canadian

last time i went riding EVERYONE (10+ people) had their chain too tight except me... mine was too loose , but i knew it and didnt care
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.
