After the thrill is gone...

Post by MojoScojo »

Our beloved site is in danger.
It's creator has expressed that there is no desire to keep it going.
Frankly, I can't blame him. The entertainment value is gone.
Traffic is tragically low and has been for quite some time.
Where the heck has everyone gone?
Have you all sold your 500's and moved on?
If so, is there any need to keep this place running?

Is there anybody out there?

There is a vast wealth of information here. I hate to see it die.

The hosting contract expires May 31st...

I'm still here also. It'd be a damn shame to see this place go.

I am here daily as well.

Is there a way to, at the least, convert some threads to Wiki ?

I'm still here, own a 500.. but havent ridden it it two god dammed years.

First I ripped my Achilies Tendon off.... but after it healed it seems my weekends are 110% consumed with H/S Baseball, Club Volleyball... honey do's, and other shit.

I'm as guilty as anyone for letting their bike sit.

I'vr had the Hondapotums out a few times, I can ride that right out of my garage.... The A/F is a 2 hour ride to go anywhere good.

I'm hating life....

I'm here, cheer up Bob, I know you're not into the sand so much but next year if you want to make it out to Glamis I'll let you know when, room for a bike in the trailer and a sleeping bag on the floor!

Especially since they recently re-opened 38000 acres! I'm just waiting for all the stupid red flags to be removed then I'll head down. Haven't been there since 2000.

I've been all Hondapotomous lately getting ready for another run at the Baja 500. This year my 60 something year old buddy who pays for everything will do his few miles in the beginning, his nephew will take over and hand it off to me at around mile 30...then I'm riding the rest.

Bob I know that 500 of yours is set up well for a large man, being a large man myself maybe I could just give that thing the proper excercise it needs :D I hear you with life getting in the way though...the older they get the more time they take.

I come here every day...I'll agree not a whole lot going on. I have loved this site and even though I ride a steel bike this is hands down the place to come for advise on building an AF. If this place does close the doors as much as I have loved the rest of this place it seems we should at least make an attempt to save the AF builds somehow....too much knowledge to let it all pass through our fingers.

best reeds, best oil, best piston, rekluse, hydro clutch bla bla we have hashed through it a million times but the AF stuff is different.

All coming from a steely guy!!!!

If I'm not mistaken, there are 2 fees involved for keeping this site up and running? If a bunch of us pony up and keep it going, would that not work? No one really has ownership, per se, just keep the info up and available. I'm not around like I used to be, but there is some invaluable info on here.

Its cheap to keep the lights on .... its never been about the money.

Its more like..... why?

Everything runs its natural course. This site is no different.

Thoughts?
