AF info

So being that I,ve always been a steely guy, I've never paid a lot of attention tto AF info and builds except for some resent reads on the AF threads. So I was wondering if someone who is really up to speed on the subject could post as a sticky for me and future others a break down on all the pros and cons of each gen and also what years cover as gen. Would be nice for the bone heads out there like me.
