PISMO!! 2010

Post by AlisoBob »

Great trip, dont know where to start....

Sabre has taken Rob129's title as " Buffalo Turd King". While good, I think they need some improvement.

Rob would cook then ever so carefully, to the outside bacon is cooked to perfection.. where as Sabre incinerates them on the outer wrap of bacon and leaves the inner wrap almost raw. We get into quite a dissusion over it and I tell him that " The Gods of the Turd" will strike you down over your lack of proper preperation!!!" Minutes later, this was Sabre's camp...

Image
Flood-Did!!!

Sabres all pissed about the whammy I put on him..... a few minutes later a rouge wave comes in , and REALLY fucks up his campsite!!!!

Let that be a lesson Rich!!!!

All the other food was killer, Lewis clan delivered some great ( as always) Tri-Tip. My wife threw down some Salmon, Hoon Taters, and Napa Cabbage Salad. Al had some great sea-food kabobs and Sabre had some good side dishes. We ate like Kings, as we always do.

Quite alot of broken shit this year. I took my A/F up there with a leaking weep hole, rode fine the whole trip, until the final ride where my tweeked pipe from a Silverwood get off ground a hole in my left radiator lower tank. My Trail 90 got a rear flat. Al had to make two bikes into one to get around a leaky headgasket and some kind of carb trouble. Big James Lewis tore the sidewall out of one of his paddles. Jay lost compression in one of his bikes. All kinds of stuff going on. But in true CR500 form... none of it kept us from riding.

The torch was passed this year. Big James and I were out zipping around the dunes. James stopped for a second to dump some sand out of his goggles or something... I waited for him. He got his bike to start after a few more kickes than normal. So then I go to fire MY bike. Nothing... not even a " CHOOOF!!" I Kick, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,, Kick, Kick,.. nothing.

I'm the guy who usually gets things started... .not today. James hops on my bike.... ONE KICK later ... Ring -a- ding-ding-ding.

James, you are The Man!!

My son Jack was on his CRF80, with a clutch! He was all proud of himself for taking to the clutch right off the bat. Good job Sugar!!!

He's all digging the clutch... I tell him some guys take the clutch off their CR500's, and put a " Auto" one on, like his XR70 has.

He starts laughing... " Those guys must be fags!!!".. He said it, not me. Send him all the hate mail!

My daughter got off the quad and onto the XR70. She loves it!! She'll prolly' go back to the quad once we get off the flat beach however.

Touching moment of the ride was this 12 year old kid I brought named Joey and his dad Tom. Joey has never seen a dune in his life, and with a paddle on his Moms CRF150, he's 110% pinned everywhere. Cruzin' around smaller bowls, dropping in on big ones.... this kid is doing it all. A real natural!! He's coming up this steep dune for a jump, gets air, and goes head on with his Dad who just pulled up to see what was going on.

Its was a real " KER-KLANK!!!" moment when the two collided!!

Joey races over to his Dad... " Are you O.K!!!Are you O.K!!!Are you O.K!!!Are you O.K!!!Are you O.K!!!Are you O.K!!!Are you O.K!!!"

Joey's got a bruise the size of a grapefruit on his bicep, and a smashed toe but none of that matters right now, he's worried about his Dad ( who is totally fine). Your a great kid Joey.

He's telling me later on what I great rider I am. ( Maybe he did take a blow to the head?) I tell him I suck, he says " No, your really fast and wheelie all over the dunes". I assure him I'm slow as molassas and 90% of the wheelies are unintentional. I go on to tell him that any speed I have comes straight from Cameron Smith, Big James and Jay Lewis, Paul Stoffers, Hagan Dog and Worm, Tracy Stanton, Farmer Karl, Shanman, and all the other Hoons who are nice enough to let me tag along when we go ride.

"Those are the fast guys you need to learn from, not me" I tell him. He says he "cannot wait until next year!!! " I might get him out to Dumont in Nov, we'll see.

Aww..... what else? Al is amazed I can get 2 quads and 4 bikes in my 22' toyhauler. Camp was pretty quiet without Brit around. He can be a real dick-wad at times.... but he was missed ( at least by me)

Hopefully we get great weather again next year. Cant remember better weather ever at Pismo.

I saw some cameras about, hopefully someone will post some photos....

the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

hey Rick
Buffalo Turds were just fine.

THANK YOU James and Matt for helping with the bike fixing.
A few of my brain farts:
-running out of water and worping my 01' head
-backing up into Rick's trailer and denting my truck and his trailer
-opening up my radiator cap while it was boiling
Good thing Mai Tais started flowing early, thanks Jay

We had a freaking blast except for the flood!
Jay had the Mai Tai's rocking from day one!! Thanks J you are the man!!!:woot:
Matt had a pretty girl follow him into camp on the second day there and she kept coming back for more! Guess the Thompson Charm is strong in him!
Got a couple of good rides in but sadly none were on the 500. Matt rode the hell out of it though. I about looped his CR250 on one ride. Took my other boy's qwad out just to see how it goes on the sand, it was fun but not as fun as a bike.
The food was off the hook as usual, everyone out did themselves!!! Thanks all!!!!
I have made better turds though I
and I know what the issue was even before Bobber put the Whammy on me. The issue will be resolved and the Turds will be even better!!!!

Here are some pics

The flood (came in well before I was cooking Turds)

How I was going to cook up the turds just needed a cooler on the back and instant rolling party!!
