6-23 @ Silverwood Lake

Post by AlisoBob »

Good day was had by all.... We put this ride together to honor Brits appearance at the NAHA Hillclimbs.

We hit the trails around 9:00am. Present were:
Brit
eriC
Super-Trucker
MadDog
Pecker
me

First loop was a 15 miler on Jeep roads to get Brit used to the terrain, second loop was a Singletrack 30 miler.

Brit wadded it up right in front of me during the 30 miler. Stuck the front end into a rut, went over the top, and had the bike "body slam" him. Looked painful, hope you feel ok tomorrow Brit.

We came across a 6' Rattler , trying to go down its hole. I almost got ahold of its tail to pull it out. Brit started freaking.... He would have really freaked if I got a better grip and threw it his way.

We all ride at about the same pace, so no one was straggling, or waiting which makes it fun.

MadDog brought out his "Malcolm Smith" special. Pretty cool looking at the autograph Malcolm laid on it.... sweet ride Mike.

Good times with the Banned guys..... cant think of a better way to spend a Wed. afternoon......

Pecker bought some Beers, :headbang:

Brit took some photos, maybe he'll toss some up.

Were going to do this again in two weeks... dont miss out on the fun!!
Thanks Guys!!!

:rotfl: I dont eff with rattlers. Just caught a 16" Mountain King the other day. Got a terranium for it yesterday. Fed it it's first mouse meal -

Doing it again in a couple weeks? How was the weather? Did ya have to get a ranger pass? See any rangers? You have sparky's on your bikes? Been wanting to do this for some time now. And are you doing it in the middle of the week or weekend? Sorry for the bombardment of questions. ;)

Weather was a little warm ( low 80's?) but not bad

Yea, the pass is $5

No rangers to be seen, weekdays are pretty quiet up there. We ride mid week so we dont go head on with the kids on the trails or beat the fuck out of the mexicans spinning donuts on their stolen qwads in the staging areas.

The brush is pretty dry, you need a spark arrester to be safe.

You want to be the doosh-bag responsible for burning down 1/2 the forrest?

Yes, very dry.

You want to be the doosh-bag responsible for burning down 1/2 the forest?
I certainly hope not.

I want to say a big thanks to Ryan (Pecker) and Bob.
On a long uphill I bounced in and out of a rut through the bushes and who know's what till I bailed.
I got the bike spun around wedged into the rut. Trying to pull it out I tweaked my back. The hell with it, I went and sat down.
Pretty soon here comes Ryan. Goes by and stops. Comes over all calm, picks it up like it's a pit bike.
Then asks me if he would like for him to spin it around. (I'm thinking, yea sure, it's in a rut.) Nah it's OK. (As I'm thinking now I get to ride it back down to turn around and ride it back up. I'm freaking exhausted and my back hurts...)
Bob has also come up and comes over and I relent, OK if you guys THINK you can. Now it's challenge. And they git er done. :birthday:
Very, very
Thanks guys. :headbang:

There are several puddle and stream crossings up there. We come across the mother of all puddles, more like a small pond. There is a trail around it which is what I normally take. What do you think the Banned guys do? Yep, right through it. Watching someone go through it is totally different than doing it yourself...
As the water stops your momentum and the tire sinks in the muck, the motor gets real quite and starts to bog you realize you don't want to be here so, when in doubt, power out and git er done.

Like I said, fun times with good guys.

This fat fuk handed you your ass all day.... come to think of it, Pecker did as well.

Lets strap 100 lbs. to your chest protector, and see how you do.

For me, the funniest part of the day was Chris and I coming through a smaller puddle, were banging handelbars trying to get the advantage to splash each other.

The outcome was much like the World Cup.... 0-0 tie.
