Post by Tharrell »

Didn't really know where to put this.
I was GONNA ride but flipped it in the front yard.
I hadn't ridden it in over a year.

Enjoy.

Gotta love it when the 500 suddenly decides to hook up!
The CR500 is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, acquire some taste...

Man my backside is SORE!
I just tooled off to the grocery store and it wasn't fun in that 2500 truck.
I had ridden it across the street and forgot my helmet cam.
Came back in and drank some coffee and waited for the housekeeper.
I hit that little rise after the driveway while goosing the throttle and was probably sitting too far back.
Anyway, there's my cherry!

Awesome.
No way!

I thought about what happened and I think I broke a couple of big bore cardinal rules.

One, short shift.
Two, sit further up on the seat.

I'm just so used to being in the meat of the powerband on all my other bikes.
In honesty though, the only way to stay out of it on this bike is to be a gear high.
I scrunched the rear fender next to the seat and I'm gonna leave it like that to remind me.
I might even put some notes on the tank with a sharpie to short shift it

Yeah, I knew I'd take it in the shorts from you guys but it's ok.
That's in the hoon charter I assumed.
I am far from a master of THIS bike for sure.
Anyway, I don't have a ton of experience with 500's but I am impressed with the power of this bike.
My 480 is nothing like this.
Kustom Kraft is engraved on the cylinder and I was told it was ported and such, set up to race.
This thing really grunts down low, it's got a Gnarly on it but geez!
Kustom Kraft has some big bore kits they offered on other bikes and I'm wondering what exactly was done to this one?
Guess I'll have to peek inside to see.

We ALL "F" up from time to time.

Its called being human.

Might as well get a laugh out of it.

I wish all the butt hurt cry babies could follow Tharrell's example.

Thanks Bob, that's why I posted it. For laughs!
I knew I could count on you guys to bend me over and I expected it!
My ass is already sore so you guys can't do any worse!!!

A guy in another group posted these pics, I can't get the screen print thing down to save my life.
The second 2 are him on a DT Yamaha.

I've got one of those "remember to not do this stupid thing you did fenders" on one of my bikes. I made myself keep it on there for 1 year as a reminder of how dumb I am. It can come off at Christmas. I have a granaded rear hub to add to my stupidity wall from Pismo, I have no way to punish myself for that other than the pictures that will live forever on this site.

mine never last that long, on the 6th one right now
( i never chuck them, if there too mangled to be wired on and fall of is how they get retired)
the 450 will have less power and will be harder to start, and will be heavier, but to make up for it it will require more maintenance.

Mines on my street bike, cough cough hhmmmm (a Harley). It's a pretty bike and I was getting out all the Christmas crap for my wife and kids. I knew I should move my bike but it's O.K. I'm not going to drop anything. A plastic box lid came off and hit prefect on the corner of my front fender, it was like 10 degrees in my garage so the plasic was super hard and it put a silver dollar sized dink in the front fender and cracked the paint. Everytime I look at it I think what a dumbass I am. 90,000 miles with barely a scratch and I dink it on an Fing Christmas Box AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Love those old school photos with mustaches and Datsun's
