My AF carb boot/fit swaps between the 87 and 97 no problemo, Kicker [Ccurrent model] hit peg at the bottom but the kicker on my 97 hits the break pivot bolt, water pump housing is good, motor was rebuilt last winter and the rear bushing has been enlarged for current steelie or conversion fit. :)

I think my 87 was faster then the 97, both in a conversion. Funny though, the 87 is for sale in great condition but people are hesitant to buy/use it in an AF because of the tight plumbing..... :?

Just so happens the ONLY other pilot jet I have is a 58....... I'm thinking it has a 48 in it. Upadate: My bad, 56 in it. Put in the 58 [170 main] and it's much better.....not perfect but at least the choke does something now! Crap, my old eyes are soooooo fecking bad I had to use two pair of Wally ...

I bow to you who are so wise in the ways of science.....

Pilots gotta be lean as once I get it running, it'll run the same with the choke in or out and adjusting the air screw changes nuttin foir all intense purposes.

On the up side, I got a super workout today kicking it a hundred times.

adam is that 50 in a pwk or pj ? I have 2 PCs, one new SH pipe that is used for several generations with the carbon fibre guard and a steely one. The steely one is cracked quite a bit near the ignition where they always do. I'd give you that one for a good deal on the MX 51 tire if we can get toget...

what year ignition are you running? the old analog one right? pre 97 is analog. gettting the pilot jet right is the place to start. with the cold weather you will need to be a bit richer than normal. I'm better U R too rich on the pilot and that is the starting problem. I tried mine timing all the ...

I actually really like the power delivery now,[still interested in the PC pipe though] because I think I'll be fastest [mx] with that smooth delivery.

I would like to be able to start it cold though..... ;)

Sean, You have any advice on where to go timing wise?

Yeah, I want to try a PC pipe for sure. To bad it was a Gnarly not a Fatty......

I'd go to WSP but I'm not currently a member of any race organization and you need a card to ride that open practice.... :(

UESTION it lays over and doesn't want to stand up as much on

First impression after 250 flywheel/ignition swap in my 97 motor/CRF450 Gen 4 conversion. I now own a super fast CR250R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very hard to start. NO QUESTION it lays over easier and doesn't want to stand up on exit as much. I clutch a lot so I didn't notice a lack of flywheel effec...

Sorry you didn't get it....you weren't the brunt of it.

Sarcasm: stating the opposite of an intended meaning especially in order to sneeringly, slyly, jest, mock, hurt or insult a person, situation or thing; extreme form of irony.

I must side with Disturbed on this issue, I havent used iron man sproket bolts before, but I have used msr and they suck, the metal is very brittle and does strip very easily when installing them correctly , also they came loose after eveyride. The point is some things are best bought oem and sproc...

Is it really that difficult to understand the bolt had been broken loose and the bolt was being used to continue to loosen it when 2 allen heads stripped?

Crap, that seems pretty simple to understand to me.
