FS: 90 cr500 forks $100
I have a set of what I was told are 1990 cr500r forks I came across that I don't need. They need seals. Pretty good shape otherwise. Does $100+ shipping sound like a good hoon price? Not sure how to price these. I could go ahead and put seals in them for cost of oil and seals if it helps someone out...

How do you like that rear rack? Any better pictures of it? I really do love these pigs even if there are plenty of bikes that are way more modern. I'm also curious about the hisortory of my tank. It has IMS stamped in it and it's a universal fit for the xr650l and xr600r. Xr600r minutes bolt on to b...

A little update I was able to succesfuly put the 89 cr500 rear wheel on my xr650l. I had to order two bearings, made a brass bushing, turn two new wheel spacers on my buddies mini lathe and ordered a new sprocket for the CR wheel. I geared it to try and retain the stock gearing of the 650 with the n...

Just an example of my buddies welding ability, (which I'm sure someone here will turn their nose up at) Some may remember when I picked up the 89 I totally missed that the back side engine boss was broken. Not thrilled about that at all. Well my buddy had an hour before I had to leave and that was t...

Here's how is sat before I took it to my buddies to be welded. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/f199e72c4aacd70f4d7aa5a547a54da6.jpg When I got there we spent a couple hours disassembling what I had and make some changes to make things fit better. As it was left I believe we had it configur...

Sorry for no update! I got quite a bit of work done. Nabbed the items I needed, a combination of ebay and conversions.com parts. I choose to disect the stock Y and use the ebay rails and mounts. Not much to say, pretty standard cutting and shaping. I'm not the absolute best fabricator so I'm sure ma...

Well don't know if it interests anyone but I did get to try this out. I'm trying to have a set of rims with nobbies and then my stock rims with street tires. I happen to be parting out this 89 CR500 for my AF build and figured hey, why not see if I can kill another bird. Looks like a bearing change ...

xr650l wheel swaps?
Anyone attempt to use a CR500 rear wheel on a late model xr650l?
I may do some investigation on my won but just checking to see if anyone has tried it?
I would think it would be manageable with some custom spacers. I guess I'll find out.

Trust me man, I kinda agonized about it but there are just too many little things on this machine that just don't make it too nice to part out. The frame has some rail damage, I had to heli coil quite a few threads. And there's plenty of stuff that should still be replaced if I was to keep it a stee...

89 sacrificed for 07
Well I picked up an 89 for a good price and ended up fixing up a few things. Had actually started a thread in the steely rebuild forum. I had been kicking around the idea of an AF in the back of my head but honestly I didn't think I'd come across a roller at the right price any time soon. Well I gue...

1989 CR500 part out for AF build
Well I came across a nice deal on an 07 450 roller so this ole girl is on the chopping block for an AF build. I'm keeping the engine, shifter, kicker, exhaust, electrical, number plate and some misc hardware everything else is up for grabs. Let me know what you need. http://i106.photobucket.com/albu...

yeah, i figured I was going to need some rubber bushings and inserts, did those come with the silencer or are they oem. I'm just trying to figure out if i need to call FMF to order them or get them from honda. I think I have some inserts, just not the rubber bushings. That 92 looks mighty clean. Any...

WTB: newer style CR500 kick starter
Looking for a deal on a used kicker. Anyone have one they want to let go? I almost pulled the trigger on a new one from Service Honda but figured I'd ask here first.
