For frame prep follow Algava's instructions. I used a portaband to cut the lower frame rails, just in front of the lower mount and a grinder to cut away the welds at the top of the wye, and the upper motor mounts. Cut most of the way through the welds, then try to pry the stuff off. On the motor mou...

Another Algava Style Build

I had a CR250 frame laying around that I had got in a CL parts buy. The welds at the lower/back of the spar look as if someone has re-welded them. I am seeing weld on top of weld. I have no idea why that would be, nowhere else does it look re-welded, and I am not familiar with any cracking issues at...

I've always ran distilled water or distilled water + water wetter, but I am rethinking the distilled water bit. I'm a plumber, and when plumbing R.O. water, metallic piping is a no-no, since the water is pure H20 it is what I've heard called "hungry water" in that without the mineral, it i...

Thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna try the Scott anti-for next ride. I typically use either a Scott or Oakley OTG (over the glasses) goggle. I never noticed the "sand" type goggle before. I assume they have less venting (more closed cell foam) and will fog more , but since i ride 99% sand...

Goggles fog bad... maybe snow goggles would work???

My goggles always fog really bad. Most of the time I have to start riding then put them on. these Snow Goggles say the resist fog well. Any Idea on how they'd work at the sand dunes? http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/-/439/717/-/26598/Scott-87-OTG-Turbo-Flow-Snow-Goggle%26utm_source=Emailblast%...

Detonation?

At the sand dunes (Gordon Wells), I get a noise, that sounds like pinging/rattling noise at 1/4-1/2 throttle just as it transitions into the power band. Happens both in deep sand, and on the harder flats. Any thoughts? Is this detonation, or is this awful sound typical and O.K.? I am running PWK bor...

Trade my gen3 converted for your Gen3 not converted

Will trade a titled converted 2002 cr250 frame for a non converted titled gen3 cr250 frame. The good: Conversion is complete, has a title. The bad: It is an ugly conversion. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/cdb33a9e267cc746d3daaf2735b76392.jpg https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/82b5b...

My CL find

Picked this up the other day. What can you guys tell me about the lighting coil. Any idea on the wattage? Is this some sort of do-it-yourself add on? If I run a light would I need to wire in a rectifier, regulator, or something? Where do I get one? By the looks of the sticker on the case, looks like...

I am sure it will physically fit the engine, but the headstay mount may be in a different location. May have to build custom head stay.

I think everyone involved appreciates what you tried to do here, and the fact that you stuck with it when it went pear-shaped. Personally, I would rather thank you than hang you. Agree 100%. I have not been frustrated in the slightest over this deal. I had been trying to get a friend of mine...

For those who need to it is easy, I boxed up and used the pay and ship machine at the post office. Should be there in 2-3 days.

This will be a tough one on a honda oriented site, and I know the original question was about CR's, but really for a 250 the YZ is where it is at. 99 or newer, particularly the '06 and newer. I have an '01 and bet I keep it till the day I die.
