That's a massive fuel tank.
Wonder how it affects the handling when it's full, or sloshing at half full?

That's sick man.

My mother in law was here for the holidays.
After Christmas dinner she said she'd decided to be cremated.
I got up and said "I'll get the car"

Damn. My computer was down at that time and I only recently got back online. I didn't know him but I sorta did. I would read all the back and forth posts on this site and it kinda feels like you know people. I got the idea that Jay was like a patriarch. Everyone had respect for him it seemed. Condol...

Well, some lessons are learned the hard way. For me, it was casing a double jump back in '86 on an ATC250r. I went over the bars and it chased me down the track like an angry refrigerator. The front fender really closeup is the last thing I saw in focus. I can only imagine what a monster quad would ...

Damn, I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but this jet needle conversion crap is confusing. I think I got it though. if I am correct, my jet needle on the PWK right now is CHJ or R1368H. I was reading the chart left to right and it should be read, left-right-middle. Somebody school me if...

Here's what the PJ has. main 172 slow 60 I'm assuming someone jetted this bike so I'm hoping they should just transfer over. The reason I'm assuming is, someone spent the money on an Ohlins shock and possibly did the front. Also, the cylinder was ported and the head modded, and the pipe was reshaped...

I'm at 1250 elevation, my '85 bike is ported also.
My manual calls for a R1368N needle, 86-89 are all different.
I'm hoping the main and slow jets will just transfer from the PJ.

Can't believe my luck

Well, I'm kinda in the poorhouse right now and I need a new carb for my '85, left it sitting in a moist basement and the slide stuck big time. I was all set to buy the cheapest PJ I could find on fleabay when I took a stroll to the basement to see what I could get into. There it was, sitting right w...

I need a carb for my '85 but I'm pretty broke, for real.
I do have some '96 parts to trade, frame, swingarm, tank, seat, subframe, shock.
Or just give me a price and I'll see if I can manage.
I let the carb for my '85 sit in the basement and the damn slide is stuck and will not come out for anything.

In my opinion, anything Honda did was to make the powerband more manageable. Since the KX had a powervalve, it seems to reason that the pb was engineered to be more rideable. However, the KX seems to be few and far between today as it was back in the day. John Dowd did pretty good at the castle rece...

Need a carb

Well, I'm paying the price for letting a bike sit too long dissassembled. The carb on my '85 is stuck. I've tried everything but the slide is just corroded to the walls of the carb and won't come out. It's been sitting in my basement for the last 2 years. I'd like to get a new PWK but right now I'm ...

1985 redux

Well, finally got the frame painted and the new top end on. Ran some taps through most of the frame threads to clean them out. It's prolly time I put the engine in it and fire it up, that will be forthcoming. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/89d30f767b5548bd4e9a26ea1083d5b4.jpg https://bann...
