Still motoing Here is an early part of yesterdays session. XR was killing it, might have been a handful on the 500. Don't know because my parts didn't show up on time for the 500. I blew a water pump seal on Sunday with the 500 and caught it. Was ripping some singletrack and started thinking this th...

I wasn't on computers in the days of Larry's, but have been on 500's since 1988. I rode 500's for years before looking up anything about them on the internet. since finding this site and the other I have had the pleasure of meeting and riding with some cool people. I will probably own 500's till i'm...

Hoonfest 2016

Anyone over here interested? It looks like the dates will be the first weekend in February so the 6th and 7th. I guess it was originally a bunch of 500's but the last few years it has been just a cool trail ride and some camping in Arizona and most the bikes are orange or something other than 500's....

I'm still here, I ride better than I type and I don't ride all that well. I rode Monday out at sand mountain...it was a blast. I had my pure sand bike thats all ported out ripping hard, it was smoking everything, then it clipped a ring on the exhaust side, cracked it and munched up the cylinder. It ...

No that split is more like a cliff in person. I have a bunch of single track that gets me close to the peak, then a rocky fire road the last mile or so. There is an old fire look out up there that was manned when I first moved here but hasn't been used in like 20 years or so that is pretty cool to j...

No I rode to work yesterday, but I was solo and for whatever reason I just don't stop when I'm by myself much. I'll post up a little scenery but I don't have a gopro or anything and it would be boring watching an old man putt putt around anyway. No Moto this weekend, it's sort of the last summer hoo...

Rode the AF briefly on Sunday evening...that thing has reached a level near perfection. I rode my XR to work yesterday with my friend I work with. We have been hitting the MX track a lot. Yesterday on the way to work we whooped out bigtime as the sun was coming up. Made it through the work day then ...

Killer dual sport ride yesterday and for once I was not alone. My friend I work with rode his KTM into work and we tore up about 60 miles afterward. Bunch of singletrack, some 2 track some fire roads...hell we even hit the motorcross track for a few minutes. It was super windy and my first flight cr...

Well I have been switching gears slightly, I put my street legal garbage back on my 650 and have been riding that to work once a week or so. I forgot how good this bike is. I love it everywhere and the feel I was looking for out of the CRFX500 whatever was what the 650 has. I can blast fire road fas...

I'm pretty sure it was powdercoat because it came off more like paint, I did remove some anodizing off a part or two but that took a little more effort and the part underneath didn't come out looking all bling like these hubs did. I think the spokes were powdercoat too because they were black and it...

O.K. a couple updates....since this website is mostly dead, yes I realize I am mostly talking to myself. First off my rims. When I got them I preferred the red hubs with the black rims over the black rims with black spokes and white hubs but they were out of the red so I went with the white. Well I ...

I only met Jay one time, and just like Kuma said, he made me feel right at home and like I was part of the crew. He had a very nice family as well which only furthers the testament to the character of the man. My Dad passed away almost exactly a year ago. He didn't want a funeral, said he always hat...

Back to the drawing board one more time. Have the forks working really really well. My weight creates issues. The rear spring was the stiffest race tech sells. I end up setting for race sag and having little to no free sag. Then I try to compensate with valving. If I twist in the rebound clicker to ...
