Does anyone know why the holes in the gasket are way smaller than the jacket orifices? Seems like honda is limiting the flow, but why?

modifying a honda head gasket for overbores

Has anyone got any experience enlarging the OEM gasket to 91mm. I'm not sure how to go about it other than to order a cometic. I've been told cometic has larger ones. I own the OEM that came in the motor kit. I have a once used one that EG modded 4 me. I'm sure lewisclan will tell me to reuse it w/ ...

So Roostius is hooking me up with a plate for the top. I have a hard time believing that I need one for the bottom of the cylinder. Maybe if the case deck was warped it could distort the jug, doubt it and it would prolly suck air anyway. He made extra's in case anyone needs a frisbee.

how long is gas with 927 good for?

Does anyone know how long mixed gas with 927 is good for? I've run synthetic forever and that stuff holds up pretty well over time. I'm considering running the new motor on 927. If 927 is so good can one be a bit more aggressive w/ the jetting and run the bleeding edge of the lean side? thanks, sean

thanks for the link bob. I have read it several times thus my concern. Thanks adam that's what I really wanted to know. Now I gotta decide if I'm gonna build one myself with a machineist help or send it to someone. The powerseal folks say they will bore and hone with it if I provide the plate. I got...

the plating is .002 ? so they bore it .005-.006 bigger than the piston then put on the plating to get the .003-.004 clrearance ? I'll have to check but I think the plating is thicker than .002 From a jug that's allready setup they told me they take it down another .008 then build it up and hone for...

My original post was off by one word. "NOT" The nikaseal companies I talked with say it's NOT necessary to use a plate. I don't know if Jay had pete send it over with a torque plate or not. Has anyone ever been able to measure a difference between a bore bores done w/ plates and without? I...

I had Pete loomis contact & bore my cyl to the milmum spec before it was sent. milmum just diamond honed it to a finish Huh :?: Both companies told me they bore about .008 out then apply the coating and hone to final size. The point is if they don't hone with the plate then having it bored with...

nikasil honed with torque plate

I'm about to get my bore nikasiled. When I read that they want the jug without the studs I realized that they are not using a torque plate. I'm talking about powerseal usa in PN. Millennium Technologies doesn't use the plates either. Does anyone know where I can buy one? I guess I could have one mad...

bead thickness to run a tublis on a 2.5 18" needed

Hi I'd like to know the thickness of the bead on a teraflex, IRC M5B, maxxi desert IT. I have a dunlop and a michelin that I measured. Dunlop = .277" = 7 mm michelin S12= .385" = 9.8 mm Target bead thickness is 11mm or thicker to run a nuetec tublis 18" rear setup if you are running a...

dimpling cases

Hi. Does anyone have input on dimpling the main cases between the tranny and the crank? How about between the case and the jug. I have never sucked a gasket and don't want to. I'm getting ready to throw her back together once I get my crank back from STR. Does anyone use yamabond on the center case....
