it sounds like the bottom of your cyl. was cut .039 at one time or another,was that with no gasket ,but you measured the overall length and were within .015 of each other (cyl-cyl) the 88 cyl need the .012 thick gasket to match the ports and the later needed the thicker. so do you think the 88 ports...

looks to me it had more to do with your rod bearing possibly even a bent or slighty twist rod. the crown of the skirt should be square to the big end of the rod or crank. if not the skirt will load to one side in the cyl.and ruinin the piston. every time we mount a piston on a rod weather new or old...

was talking to the guys at my local Cycle Gear about there new easton bars there fatter then the pro tapers and you have to buy there clamps and the pad looks weird to me. 100.00 bars and pad no clamps? heard that Pro Taper is going out of buisness???? any buddy tried these yet???

Mojo, your missing the point, everyone knows what that mod does, it's a way to retune a motor to 4 stroke power, which BTW Gorr evens says that.
